Identity fraud is down by 12 percent according to The Javelin Strategy & Research “2007 Identity Fraud Survey Report.” Reason to quit worrying about the issue, right? Wrong!

One of the reasons for the decrease is targeted specialization by the ID thieves, which simply narrows the field of victims. In a recent breach at discount chain TJ Maxx, the same people had broken into systems at other retailers in a well-orchestrated, concentrated attack. Gartner Research asserts these people are meticulously working at collecting information on millions of Americans.
